The 2026 edition of The Big Goal is officially underway, with the Southern Regional Final in Dagenham delivering a fantastic opening chapter to this year’s tournament. Blessed with clear skies and sunshine throughout the day, the event brought together teams, supporters and sponsors for a vibrant celebration of football, community and social impact.
From the first whistle, the atmosphere reflected everything that makes The Big Goal such a standout event—competitive spirit on the pitch, strong engagement off it, and a shared commitment to supporting meaningful causes. The Dagenham regional final set a high bar for the remaining heats to follow, with Smart Office Solutions securing victory over Dataquest to be crowned Southern Regional champions.
Football with a Purpose
More than just a tournament, The Big Goal is a nationwide campaign powered by the Street Soccer Foundation, using football as a force for social change. The initiative brings businesses together to sponsor places on the Street Soccer Academy—helping vulnerable young people build confidence, develop life skills and move towards employment, education or stable futures.
At its heart, the campaign is tackling youth homelessness and disadvantage by combining sport with structured personal development programmes. These academies blend football coaching with mindset training, employability workshops and mentoring—creating real, measurable impact in communities across the UK.
Every team competing in the tournament represents sponsored opportunities for young people, meaning the action on the pitch directly contributes to life-changing outcomes off it.
Delivering the Experience
For Symbiosis, the event marked the third consecutive year of delivering the branding and staging for the tournament. Working on behalf of sponsors Sky Business Wholesale and Giacom, the Symbiosis team once again created a cohesive and high-impact event environment.
The production combined bold visual branding with practical staging solutions designed to enhance both the live experience and the visual identity of the event. From pitch-side branding to sponsor visibility, every detail was carefully considered to reflect the scale, professionalism and purpose behind the tournament.
A Strong Start to 2026
“The Big Goal continues to grow year on year, and it’s always rewarding to be part of that journey,” said Emma Priestley, Symbiosis Account
Director. “This first regional final had everything—great energy, great weather, and a brilliant turnout. It’s a strong start, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
With further regional heats still to come, anticipation is already building for the national final later this year. If Dagenham is anything to go by, 2026 promises to be another exceptional year—both on the pitch and in the positive impact it delivers beyond it.
Symbiosis looks forward to continuing its support across the upcoming events, helping to deliver memorable experiences that not only engage audiences, but also contribute to a campaign that is genuinely changing lives.
